- Combining wallpapers. Wallpaper is poised to be a big trend this year, and in the bedroom, mixing two different wallpaper prints (for example, one on the walls and one lining a bookshelf) is particularly trendy. Just make sure to choose two wallpapers in the same, or complementary color families; otherwise, the two papers might clash and make the space feel disjointed and/or visually overwhelming.
- Soft lighting. Your bedroom is a place to relax and unwind at the end of the day. But it’s hard to do that under harsh fluorescent lighting, which is why soft lighting will be all the rage in bedroom design in 2024. Consider incorporating warm lighting into your bedroom design, including bedside lamps and overhead lighting with dimmers, to create a relaxing vibe in your space.
- Lighter wood tones. Wood furniture and accents are classic; they’re virtually always in style. But in 2024, the most on-trend woods for the bedroom are lighter-toned woods, like ash and birch.
